Manchester Metropolitan Joint Institute, Hubei University (JEI) is a Sino-UK cooperative education institution jointly established by Hubei University and Manchester Metropolitan University. Due to operational needs, the Institute is recruiting contract-based international faculty through a joint appointment model to deliver specialized courses entirely in English. The work location is Hubei University, Hubei Province, China.

Recruitment Requirements

General Requirements

1. Support the Constitution and laws of the People's Republic of China, demonstrate a strong commitment to higher education, maintain high ethical and professional standards, comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and be in good physical and mental health.

2. Possess the physical condition and psychological qualities necessary to perform the duties of the post.

3. Meet the academic and professional requirements of the position, with appropriate subject knowledge, academic competence, and the ability to undertake teaching and research in higher education.

4. Meet the additional requirements specified for the post.

Specific Requirements

1. Generally under the age of 55 and hold a PhD degree in relevant discipline.

2. Have at least four years of study or work experience in relevant disciplines in countries or regions where English is an official language, and be able to deliver teaching fully in English.

3. Hold one of the following certifications: Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCE), Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or an agreed professional equivalent (or commitment to obtain within two years of appointment).

Eligibility Review

Assessment

Comprehensive assessments will be conducted through teaching demonstrations, professional evaluations, skills assessments, and interviews. Evaluation will focus on academic knowledge, educational and professional background, research achievements, teaching and research capabilities, and career development plans. Appointments will be made based on overall performance, and recruitment will close once suitable candidates have been appointed.
